The Repainted American Flyer & Ives Engines The Flyer engine is a No. 1218 orginally. It does not run. The wheels appear to be OK and they do turn freely. I got a direct short circuit when putting power to the engine. ???? The Ives engine, which is cast iron, also does not run. You can see at least one wire has been disconnected when you view the underside. The wheels appear OK and will rotate freely, but on occasion will lock up. ???? Please see the pictures.
