This auction is for an early 1950's American Flyer Model No. 283 Locomotive and Tender. Last year my uncle passed and I was asked to help clean his estate. His only son lives across the country and could not help out. I was given many, many items that the family did not want. Among his collectibles he had approx. 75 Trains, most boxed, boxes of track and misc. train related items. The trains that were not boxed were wrapped in newspaper dated 2010, taped and neatly stored in many small boxes. I believe that was just around the time his health declined and he started to store his collection. I have just begun to list them. It will take a week or two! I will be listing every item he had train related! Item Description: This is an AF Model 283 locomotive and tender. It is S Gauge. The tender paint, letters, couplers are in excellent condition. Two or more of the engine wheels have some corrosion. Please see photo. Can be cleaned. The main body on both units are plastic and show virtually no marks at all! All pieces intact, nothing broken or missing that I can see and I inspected everything very carefully. The engine says 283 and the tender says Chicago Northwestern Line American Flyer Lines. The wiring between the engine and tender is intact but old. This unit is untested (running, not running, lights, horns, whistles, steam, etc and read more
