American Flyer 644 Crane Car and 645 Work CabooseThis is an American Flyer 644 crane car produced in 1950-53 and a 645 work caboose produced in 1950. The crane features a rotating cab, die cast frame and trucks, and multiple hooks and boom. The boom can be raised and lowered and contains 3 hooks which can also be lowered and raised. The Jack Boom can be extended to provide lateral bracing. The pulleys and hooks were re-strung. The stringing can easily slip off the pulleys but is easily replaced. A copy of a modern era American Flyer instruction sheet is included showing the stringing pattern. The work caboose is missing the plastic side rails. The original link couplers on both cars were replaced with knuckle couplers.
