Here a a very nice original American Flyer # 740 HAND CAR. If you are looking for a clean intact 740 Hand Car to operate on your layout this may be the one for you! This Hand Car's components appear completely original to me. There are a few marks in the paint here and there but nothing terrible at all...refer to photos. Side decals are original and show a little flaking here and there mostly at the bottoms but they look very nice overall. Nothing is broken or cracked on the shell. Both plastic molded screwhole "wells" at each end of the shell are intact and not cracked/broken as is often the case with a used hand car. All four fragile orange painted plastic shell extensions...one at each corner are intact! None are repaired. Two of these extensions have some paint flaking and minor marks. A few other minute minor marks can be seen here and there on the orange painted shell along the edges but this Hand Car displays very well. Very clean underframe and metal parts. There may be some minute "specks" of early light surface rust here and there but these should clean up well. I tested this Hand Car with a 15B transformer and it took off immediately and ran very well when current was applied. If extensive operation is contemplated I would recommend a servicing of the unit.
