American A Hardenbergh (1915- 1999) O/C Impressionist Beach Boca Grande Painting Description : Anne Laverne Power Hardenbergh (1915-1999) oil painting on canvas of Florida's "Beach at Boca Grande, Gasparilla" scene as titled on verso. It shows the dock and a small house. The coloring of the Florida beach as the waves hit the shore has lovely blue shades throughout. It is not signed but can be attributed to Anne Power Hardenberg because we have two others from the same artist, same identical hand from the same estate. It is guaranteed for life as reprensented listed artist. Anne Laverne Power Hardenbergh was born in Hollywood, CA on August 26, 1915. Anne was the sister of movie star Tyrone Power. She studied painting with John Hubbard Rich, Aloys Bohnen, and John Garth. In the 1930s she married Peter Hardenbergh, a career Army officer. While a resident of Mill Valley in 1940-42, Mrs. Hardenbergh had a studio in an old barn. After her divorce, she had a studio in the artist colony in Rockport, MA where she taught painting.
