AMERICAN PEWTER CROWN-HANDLED PORRINGER, signed. A very nice American porringer in very nice condition, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. This porringer is very dark in color, looks almost like gun metal color. It is signed on the reverse side of the handle, either IG or IC. An example of this crown-style handled porringer is illustrated in the book American Pewter , by J. B. Kerfoot (figure 8) as âeoea group of initialed porringers found in New Englandâe and yet to be attributed to a maker. No dents, heavy duty, approximately 4-1/4âe in diameter.Note: In the last photograph of this listing, I have included a picture of this porringer alongside a larger, unsigned, similar crown-handle porringer that I will soon be listing.Please see my other auctions for other items.
