AMERICAN SILVER CO. SILVERPLATE~ MOSELLE ~ 7 PC LOT Up for bid is a set of 3 Dinner forks, 3 dinner knives and one gumbo spoon in the extremely collectible Moselle pattern, circa 1906. This set is in fair-good used condition. They have been used over the course of time. T is plate loss on the back of the forks and w the blades meet the handle on the knives and t is some wear along the edges of the blades. T are monograms on the knives and forks as well. The gumbo spoon is in very good condition with a tiny dimple in the bowl (no monogram). The handles on all pieces are very nice with no dents or scratches. Not too bad for over 100 years old. I would say these pieces would do well as extras for your collection or a start on a new one. They polish up very nicely and are quite usable at your dinner table. They are certainly worth re-plating if you have the mind to do so some day. Pieces in the Moselle pattern are becoming very rare and scarcer on ebay. Moselle is considered the "Queen" of the grape patterns, rates "extremely high"among collectors and is simply hard to come by. It is easy to see why because the pattern is breath taking. Note the detail in my pictures. I have decided to limit my collection to the Rogers Bros. Vintage pattern and can only have one master. Someone out t I'm sure will give these a good home.
