A very unusual American sterlingsilver tea caddy. It is hallmarked STERLING along with the makersmarks Black Starr & Frost of New York. I would date it to around c1890-1910. It has an unusual Arts and Crafts design having an orange/lemon peel texture, it is of cylindrical shape with a slighty domed lid and ball handle. It is in perfect condition being free from dings splits and repairs, the inside is clean. It measures almost 3.25 inches (8.1cms) tall by almost 2.75 inches (6.8cms) and weighs 116 grams.
