American Woodcock" Athos Menaboni Ichauway Plantation '50s This is a matted and framed print of American Woodcocks by Athos Menaboni (1895-1990), ca. 1950s. The original painting was signed by the artist and the print shows this signature. The print also has "AMERICAN WOODCOCK ICHAUWAY PLANTATION" printed below the image. Italian born, Menaboni arrived in Georgia in the late 1920s and remained active until his death at the age of 94. The height of his career occurred during the 1940s and 1950swhen he created Christmas cards for Robert Woodruff, the president of the Coca-Cola Company. This was his connection to Ichauway Plantation, an ecological research center established by Woodruff during the 1920s. The image measure 8 3/4" X 6 1/4". The overall measurements are 15" X 12". Condition is excellent. The image and matt are mint. The frame has wear but is intact and sturdy. The paper on the back is loose in spots, has minor water damage but is intact.If the S&H charges for this item seem unreasonable, please let me know.
