This is an Amethyst Smokey Quartz specimen from the Reel Mine in Lincoln County, North Carolina, USA. Most of our Thumbnails were purchased o ut of a 40 year old collection. Back in the day, specimens were glued to the piece of styrofoam inside the "perky" box , a plastic b ox used to store and display the specimen. Be aware that we did not glue it ourselves, and we are not responsible if you break the specimen while trying to remove it from the styrofoam.
