Fossil Ammonite - Location: Mahajunga¸ Madagascar. This is an aesthetic fossil ammonite specimen that is late Jurassic (160 to 140 million years) from Mahajunga¸ Madagascar. It is a very colorful ammonite specimen that shows a 'rainbow-like' play of colors on its 'mother of pear' shell. It is well preserved and has sharp details. The specimen was hard to photograph and get all the colors as bright as they really are so the photo does not really do this specimen complete justice.
