Bidders with zero feedback are kindly requested to email me prior to bidding or I reserve the right to remove bids The Manuscript [MANUSCRIPT on Vellum] Middle English endenture (i.e. indenture) , 21 x 27 cm., [Yorkshire], 1404 from the MONK BRETTON PRIORY near Barnsley, established in 1153 by Cluniac monks. A 40-year indenture of an estate Riddings, Derbyshire from the monks of Bretton Priory, Yorkshire, to one Richard of 'Denelay. The indenture is of particular interest due to the sizeable Middle English addition on the dorse. Very Fine condition. This manuscript is of considerable linguistic importance and rarity due the sizeable Middle English addition on the dorse.
