The "Berwick" pattern, which later came be known as "Boopie," was produced by the Anchor Hocking Glass Company from the 1950's to the 1970's and was one of its most popular designs. It is recognized by the row of glass beads encircling the foot or base of the piece. Boopie is often misidentified as "Candlewick." The" Candlewick" pattern was produced by the Imperial Glass Company. Once you know the difference between these two patterns, it is easy to distinguish the two. "Candlewick" also has beads encircling the foot of their pieces, but the beads of "Boopie" glass are much larger and closer together than those on "Candlewick." I have up for auction three 7-inch iced tea goblets featuring a lovely etched laurel leaf pattern.
