I am offering something different for your Western setup. Are you getting tired of the Marx blue buckboard? How about an ABC (Anchor Buggy Company) buckboard for a little variety? Anchor and Stuart were started by the same person in the 1950s-60s and the buggies were scale models sold unassembled in model boxes. The size of this buckboard is: 4 1/2" length without shaft, 9 1/2" from shaft to end, and 2 1/2" wheel to wheel in the back. The Anchor horses only came in one size (appx height 3 3/4" to 3 1/4" for a Stuart), and look like slightly larger version of the Stuart walking horses. Anchor buggies are made with no glue of soft plastic in bright colors. This model has 2 metal rods running from the front axle to the back underneath the buggy, and has realistic buggy springs. Anchor harnesses are very detailed compared with Marx, made of soft plastic, similar in feel to Stuart bridles and saddles. This harness is great, except for one split where it hooks to the shaft of the wagon on the right side. This buckboard comes with a Marx prize livestock horse (the harness fits him perfectly, the driving bridle is just a little large -- but looks nice) as well as the original white Anchor / large Stuart horse.
