After our last visit to the one-of-a-kind "Gold Museum" ( Museo del Oro ) in Bogota, Colombia we continued our search with local artisans and actually found a replica of the so called Quimbaya Golden Flyer up in the mountains of that South American country.This rare pre-colombian artifact, among many others of similar shape that have been found and are approximately 1500 years old, was believed to be the reproduction of an insect. An insect? Really? It looks more like an F-16, if you ask me! But this fact creates an uncomfortable situation for many mainstream archeologists who will rather try to make us believe that the ancient Quimbaya culture chose to depict flying insects with aerodynamic features such as the ones we have before our own eyes.I now present you with the rare opportunity to own a 18-karat golden plated reproduction pin of this strange and beautiful piece of history, made by artisans from the same area where the amazing Quimbaya culture flourished, measuring 1 7/16" in length by 1 3/8" in width and weighing 10 grams!
