For your consideration is a beautiful Ancient Silver Archer's Ring that dates possibly to 500AD or even earlier. It measures 23mm on the inside diameter, and 40mm overall. This is one of the most unique archer's rings I have seen, and almost none of the ones I have seen in the past are silver. I don't know the weight of the ring, but it is fairly heavy and solid. I am listing this in the Byzantine category because because it was sort of a bridge connecting the east and west. But as most people who collect antiquities know that archer's thumb rings were primarily used in the eastern parts of the world( Turkey, etc) and it was not used much in the west. The Romans did for a period of time, but the Mediterranean draw was the standard, and it did not involve the use of the thumb. This would be a great addition to any collection and the fact that it's silver makes it ever better! Thanks for viewing the auction!!!
