ANDREW JACKSON. Address panel handwritten by Andrew Jackson as President unsigned: “Mr. Ingham, Sec. of the Treasury”. The address panel measures 7.5” by 4.5”; in very good condition with toning from the wax seal, a paper tape repair along a vertical fold, and having been attached to museum quality paper; and accompanied with a copy of the original letter.ADDRESS PANEL HANDWRITTEN BY ANDREW JACKSON AS PRESIDENT WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY FROM JACKSON’S TREASURY SECRETARYLIFETIME RETURN POLICY & GUARANTEED TO PASS PSA/DNA, JSA, AND BECKETTJackson’s Secretary of the Treasury, Samuel D. Ingham, provides an autograph note in the top left corner acknowledging that the handwriting is Jackson’s and was written during his presidency: “March 12, 1830, The President relative to the case of Brackenridge Dist. Atto. for Western Pa. asks for his defense”. The address leaf was original attached to a letter in which President Jackson requests additional information on the charges of misconduct placed against his federal district attorney of Western Pennsylvania, Alexander Brackenridge, which he ultimately fired and replaced with the future President James Buchanan’s brother, George Washington Buchanan.
