The print has a blue image, black lettering, and sepia-toned decoration.This print is created using a technique called Photogravure which is a form of high quality intaglio printmaking. There is foxing in some areas. Portrait plates copyright 1901 by The Gravure Company of America, edition #4145 (limited edition). The book edition is from 1907 and is allotted to Mr. J. T. Heffernon. The paper is 19 inches by 15.5 inches. The inner photo measures 8 inches by 10 inches. Editor's Note: The Official Portraits of the Presidents as they hang in the White House have been selected from time to time as the best of each of our Chief Executives.
