Offered is a classic item for the specialist trilobite collector; this is a complete, good sized (8cm tr.) prone specimen of the deep water Olenid Angelina sedgwickii , from the celebrated locality at Minfford, near Portmadoc, North Wales.This attractive example is fully articulated, with both genal spines intact and it has retained its original convexity too.The specimen has transverse distortion, typical of the locality. Matrix approx 12cm X 10cm X 2cm.This famous quarry was known to both Murchison and Salter in the 19th Century and produced countless examples of this trilobite, variously distorted by tectonic stresses. Today collecting is not permitted.No reserve for a historically important UK trilobite!
