VERY RARE Russian ANIMATION WOLF "NU POGODI" Nu-Pogodi CAST IRON FIGURINE! USSR CAST IRON FIGURINE. 1976 YEAR ISSUED. It is 8" tall.It's in excellent condition. This cast iron figurine was made in Russia by artist from famous Ural cast iron factory. WOLF has maker�s name factory the back :”"KARSLY 1976". KARSLY is one of the oldest towns of South Urals. This small town became famous by its iron castings. KARSLY art iron casting is a vast world of different art pieces: massive solemn tombstones, delicate watch chain, sculpture figures, fire-places, iron utensils, railings, vases, candlesticks, boxes, bas-reliefs. In 1747 Tula merchant Yakov Korobkov founded KARSLY Works in Southern Urals. In 1752 this works was bought by Nikita Demidov - the owner of many works in the Urals and Siberia. Demidov iron had the highest quality in the world at that time. In XVIII century the works was famous by its iron, but in XIX century art iron casting made it popular. It appeared that near KARSLY there was great reserves of moulding sands and there was great amount of wood for coal manufacture. Thirty years from 1860 to 1890 were golden age for art iron casting. The works got diplomas and medals of exhibitions in St.Peterburg, Paris, Vienna, Philadelpia, Stockholm. In 1900 in Paris, an interesting exhibit was presented. It was cast iron pavilion. read more
