ANN SEXTON YOU'VE BEEN GONE TOO LONG Ann Sexton came out of the same South Carolina gene-pool as her cousin Chuck Jackson and she sure does sound like it ! She came on the scene in the early '70s and this was the first of her six singles for Seventy Seven Records. It was 1972 when "You've Been Gone Too Long" was issued, and in the years since it's become a favorite at the Blackpool Mecca. She only got into the US R&B charts twice, and both were only minor showings. It's pretty clear from this slice of Northern Soul that buyers at the time were really missing out on a good thing. This one's flipped with "You're Letting Me Down." LISTEN TO PART OF THIS RECORD ! CONDITION: NEAR MINT ! ODD RECORDS ARE A REEL GEORGE SPECIALTY!
