This Listing Features: "Anna Karenina" 1886 1st Edition Lyof Tolstoi (Tolstoy) Description: This is a true first edition of Count Lyof N. Tolstoi's classic novel "Anna Karenina," first published in America in 1886. Translated by Nathan Haskell Dole and published by T.Y. Crowell. This hardcover cloth book is 769 pages plus a Glossary and advertisements in the back. It has the markings "In Eight Parts" and the "T.Y.C." logo on the title page, and a blank page opposite the title page confirming that it is a true first printing, first edition. This is a green cloth version (also came in brown and blue). This first edition is VERY RARE and is now 125 years old! This particular book is in overall fair condition, perhaps could be considered good when factoring in the age of the book. The condition issues are as follows: Some wear to the top and bottom of the spine, some separation from the spine, writing in the front and back of the back as this was a former library copy at one time (writing indicates given as gift "X-mas 1887" further confirming the age of this copy, corner wear on the cover, there are a few pages (fewer than 10) with minor tears along the edge. The rest of the pages are in very good condition with surprisingly no soiling or yellowing/edge wear. Overall, this is a great collectible book that is VERY RARE. It is priced
