Annapurna South Face Expedition 1970 signed postcard. The 1970 ascent of the South Face of Annapurna was a landmark in the history of mountaineering and the signatures on this commemorative cover sent from base camp include all of the greatest British climbers of the era. Signed by the expedition leader Chris Bonington , plus Don Whillans and Dougal Haston , who reached the summit, and seven other expedition members: Martin Boysen , Mick Burke ,Nick Escourt , Mike Thompson , Tom Frost and Kelvin Kent .
