Monja & Tinke Annette Himstedt introduced something new for her summer 2006 collection as she so ofter did! There were two sets of a large doll coupled with a little doll she could hold. Monja is the big girl in this set (she is 37 1/2”) and the little laughing doll is Tinke. What a pair! Monja, the quintessential blonde, is rather solemn and Tinke could not be more amused or amusing! This is a matched set with the number 140 of 377. Many of the sets were split between 2 buyers originally. Indeed, I once had the other large doll, Liska, but never her little companion! In addition there was another small one who came alone, and she still cries all the time for a big sister. Monja has elbow and knee joints in addition to the usual head, shoulder and upper arm joints. She has a vinyl and cloth body. She can sit in a natural position and hold little Tinke. Monja does not have her original outfit, but little Tinke does. I decided to list them together despite this, as they can always be redressed in matching or coordinated outfits. There are many available on eBay! Monja will come dressed in this beautiful smocked dress with ribbon embroidery flowers.
