Antique Haviland Folded CornersCabinet Plate #1 Handpainted Wild Roses Up for auction is a beautifully painted and artist signed Antique Haviland Folded Corners Cabinet Plate. It measures 8" across with a recessed well.The porcelain is pure white, and the rim and foldovers are outlined in gold.The painting is of wild roses (or possibly white peonies) with green leaves and blush pink accents. The flowers are very realistically rendered with great skill, shading and detail.The back of the plate is signed with the inscription: "Lizzie (or Lissie) to Mother San Francisco Dec 25, 1885." It has the green Haviland Mark #9, dating the production of the blank to 1876-89. Condition: The plate is in pristine condition with a bright glaze and no chips,cracks or loss to the decoration.
