This is a group of 6 original, similar looking ANTIQUE METAL and FABRIC BUTTONS WITH A STAMPED LEAF DESIGN that shows some fibers peeking through the leaves. This means the buttons are made of about three parts: the outer stamped front seems to be brass; the interior fabric and the back piece. They measure 5/8" in diameter and all are in good condition. Of the six buttons, five have nearly identical punched patterns on the front and one is slightly different in the way the branches are depicted (see scans). The extreme closeup of the fabric showing through the leaves appears to be wool, but not all buttons are of the same fabric (see scan). Also the backs are not identical: 5 backs have a cut shank and one is a loop shank. They are probably brass in the front and steel in the back because they are magnetic from the back.
