Made of rose solid 10K gold with hand carved intaglio (inverted cameo) from natural mined hematite stone of the black variety (often selected in mourning pieces). Could be for lady or man. Hallmarked "10K". Ring is highly collectible. Mourning jewelry was worn by people after Queen Victoria mourned the death of her husband (Prince Albert) . Ring can actually be really worn for any occasion (unless some one is still in mourning of the death of Prince Albert who which was the actual concept of mourning jewelry directly pertained to). Beautifully custom made with impressive artistic detail and impressive smith workmanship. Intaglio is in a Roman head warrior design. Stone (intaglio) measures: 15.5 mm by 11.5 mm with depth of 2.5 mm. Front (top) measures 3/4 inch by about 3/4 inch. Shank widths from upper to rear are: alittle over 1/4 inch, 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch and very near to 1/8 inch in back. Ring looks impressive on most fingers (great pinky ring for guy). Ring is a size 7 (N 1/2) but consider that right hand fingers tend to be alittle thicker than left hand fingers (same principle applies in case left handed, of course).
