Antique 12" 13 Piece Paper Mache Nativity Set This is a very beautiful antique paper mache composition Nativity Set. The set came out of the basement of an old church. It was going to be thrown away untill I rescued it. The figures are very large with the tallest at 12 1/2". They are stamped Japan on the bottom with the exception of the two sheep. The two sheep are not paper mache, they are old chalkware figures marked S.H. and they were with the set. Each piece is HandPainted with very bright vivid colors. Some pieces have some slight damage to them, so be sure to read each description carefully. Unless stated as substantial or noticeable breakage or damage all of the small paint chips are almost unnoticeable and can easily be touched up. 1. Virgin Mary Madonna with arms folded measures 9 1/2" tall, very small chip on backside of cape near her foot, small flea bite chips on underside of base. These chips can not be seen unless you pick up the figure and turn her over. 2. St. Joseph kneeling with staff measures 9 1/2" tall, paint loss to the tip of his nose and small area on the collar of his dress, paint wear to shoulder and small chip to bottom edge of base. 3. Baby Jesus with gold halo lying in manger measures 4" wide x 5 1/2" long, very few paint chips. 4. Wiseman #1 measures 12 1/2" tall, t is a small chip to the left hand
