Antique, Victorian or Arts & Crafts wilton, wool, rug runner, dating to circa 1920's-30's. Rare! Stunning pattern. Measures 26 1/2 by 14 ft., 10 inches. Condition is as follows: ------Rug shows no fringe which affects the value little, if at all. We can supply you with 'period' matching fringe for no extra charge if you so desire.-------Approximately 6, scattered, heavily worn areas, each measuring approximately 3 inches or so. (These areas do not look 'intense', and are gray in appearance, blending in with the overall pattern of the rug).------Scattered areas on back of rug showing some breaks. The worst area is on one corner of the rug and we applied fabric patch to reinforce it. Please note: This is not duct tape. Even though there is some breakdown of the back, the front is very much intact as noted in the photos.---------One area on the side of the rug approximately 15 inches in length shows about 1/8 inch of border absent. We whip-stitched this area to prevent from further fraying.-------A few scattered areas on side of rug where threads were frayed and we whipstitched to prevent further fraying.----------In spite of the aforementioned negatives, this rug is beautiful when displayed, and the wear areas do not have an intense appearance.
