Here's a nice old door latch hardware set we received recently with some salvage items from an old farmstead here in NH. This is a thumb latch style door hardware set. On this one the handle is a little more decorative than most we see with the handle and thumbpiece attached to as escutcheon type plate. This part was on the outside of the house and had been painted white many years ago. The inside par with the hook end and bar was located on the inside of the house. The catch piece located on the casing of the door was also painted white. When looking at this as if it were mounted the handle has been angled a few degrees to the left. This was mounted on the far right of the door and appears to have been pushed or bent to the left a little bit to allow room for the fingers between the handle and the door casing. Could be moved back if someone wanted to but just wanted to mention this. To lend a little scale to the photos the escutcheon piece is about 7.75 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. The handle itself is about 4.25 inches long. Nice antique, primitive thumb latch door hardware set. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest.
