Large Antique Meissen lidded soup tureen in the blue and white design known as Blue Onion. The tureen is oval shaped with leaf formed handles on either side. The domed lid has a notch where a ladle can rest and it's finial is in the shaped of twisted leaves. On the bottom of the tureen is a crossed sword Meissen marking indicative of a creation date between 1815 and 1924. The crossed swords mark can also be found in the pattern of the piece on the front center near the bottom. The piece measures approximately 13.5" in length and 9.5" in height.Condition: The tureen has two chips, both have been highlighted in the pictures with a red circle.
