Please email with any questions. 10" by 8" stationery from the Spotswood Hotel in Macon, Georgia with architectural vignette in red, overprinted with the lettering in green including the names of the proprietors C W Byington of Georgia and J D Sublett of Virginia. The vignette shows the hotel as a large three story building. I think the original Spotswood Hotel was in Richmond, Virginia. It opened in 1861 and became a hive of political activity located in the Confederate capital. It was destroyed by fire in 1870- the same year as the date on this stationery. Minor soiling and fold lines from original mailing.
