This is a remarkable sketchbook signed Herbert Peter Spicer, Leamington Spa, 1873. It includes 20 drawings of nature scenes, animals, and landscapes. Front cover says that Mr. Spice was 12 years old!! I cannot determine if the artist was a relation of Peter Spicer, the famous taxidermist, but it is certainly possible that he was a descendant.Book is coming apart and many of the pages are loose. Edges are brittle with some tears and chips in the pages. Foxing throughout.
