Rare Wedgwood 10" large rim soup bowl in very good condition. Circa 1877, the Wedgwood Banquet pattern was designed by acclaimed artist Thomas Allen. The center designs of this set are based on the different courses of a meal -- Venison, Soup, Mutton, Fish, Pastry, etc. This soup bowl has a center picture of a woman feeding a child soup surrounded by the wording, "Enough Means Health, More - Disease". The bowl has a border of cartouches on the rim consisting of rabbits, fish, sheep, and a deer interspersed in each of these drawings with a young child with a dog on a leash. The platter is in very good vintage condition with light crazing and some rough edges on the rim. Height is about 1 1/2 inches. The Wedgwood marks are impressed on the back along with the three letter code "HOF" and the letter "D".
