Antique 1882-1885 ZSOLNAY Pecs Hungary EWER JUG 7 1/4" Tall PITCHER This antique ceramic pottery jug was manufactured by Zsolnay of Pecs, Hungary. The number 1377 is incised on the bottom, indicating that it was made between 1882 and 1885. The jug stands 7 1/4" in height. It measures approximately 6" across the widest part. It is painted with flowers and leaves in soft browns, taupes and rosy browns. The designs are all outlined with gold gilding. The openwork bulges are painted gold on the inside. The glaze is glossy. There are 2 small chips to the glaze to mention....one is on the lip of the top opening, and the other is on a corner of one of the spikes on the handle. There is very light crazing of the glaze and wear to the gilding due to age. Please see all photos. Incised on the bottom "Zsolnay Pecs 1377", and a blue stamp with the "5 Churches".
