Up for auction is a Jones Serpentine hand crank sewing machine. It has a serial number of 72403. According to my research this makes it have a manufacture date of approximately 1888. That would make it 127 years old.The hand crank turns freely. The needle shaft goes up and down. The feed dogs are moving. It has a shuttle and bobbin in place. It does NOT have a needle. My research shows that it uses a 29 X 3 round shank needle, size 12(80 metric). I have found the correct needle on eBay for $3.95 for 10.There is no box/cover for this machine. The machine has worn decals and some rust. If you keep this oiled and turned occasionally, it'll probably last another 127 years.Please refer to the pictures.
