You are bidding on an antique gold watch. I have been collecting watches for over 50 years & my finances, or rather, lack of them, have decided that the time has come to sell most of them. This is the last watch I will be listing for a little while, unless I re list some that don't sell first time around, so I thought I would save, what in my opinion is one of the nicest looking watches I have, till last, in fact it is the watch I will miss most. I am being a bit cheeky with the title for this watch, the closest this watch has been to a "trench" is probably one dug by the water board. But I thought, if hundreds of other sellers list these watches, as trench watches, who am I to argue. The reason I am not sure if it is vintage or antique, is that the London import hallmark is very difficult to read, it could be an S for 1913, or perhaps a little earlier/later. I would appreciate it, if someone with more knowledge than myself, that probably means most of you, can date it more accurately from, what looks to me, a high quality movement. I think, judging from other watches that I have scraped because the movements were broken, the weight of gold would be about 8 grams, so I am going to set my start price at £199, which after eBay`s & paypal`s very reasonable fees (do you detect a hint of sarcasm) would actually be less than I could read more
