Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. Including a Facsimile Auto-biography This is the First Edition published by David McKay, Washington Square, Philadelphia, 1900. Book features green cloth binding with gold lettering and ornate gold design on spine. Cover has gold lettering and black design. There are 567 pages, all tightly bound. Top edge of pages has gilt edge, with some wear. Includes the special fold-out pages of biographical notes that are a facsimile of Walt Whitman's own handwriting. Page three of facsimile is detached from binding. Frontispiece of Walt Whitman protected by a tissue guard. The covers are securely attached. Book is in good condition.
