Antique 1901 MISS VICTORY Sterling Silver Commemorative or Souvenir Pin -- Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Indianapolis Indiana -- Art Nouveau Design -- Red, White, Enamel -- Mint condition -- no flaws noted -- no damage etc. -- needs a good clean with silver polish! Working hardware! UNSIGNED by artist. Historic Notes: The figure is a contemporary turn of the last century design of Victory, a cross between the figure atop the column & the carving at the base of the plinth. The two flags in the pin have 9 stars on each = 18 + one star above the figure = 19 -- Indiana was the 19th state to join in 1816. The monument was erected in 1901 in honor of all the Hoosiers who gave their lives in war. Pin measures 1.75 x 1&3/8 x .25 in. Pin weighs 8 g. unwrapped.
