For your consideration is this 1907 catachism book from Budapest Hungary. The book has 247 pages which are still intact but are yellowed with age. The book is written in Hungarian, but the unique cover makes a real collectors piece. The front and back covers are edged with brass beading. The clasp is also brass with an intricate design. T is an unknown ivory colored material that frames out the front cover design, and is also present on the back cover and spine. The spine does have four chips in this material that are missing. The intricate bone, silver, gold and red velvet design of the front cover is very unique, with the design being nailed to the cover. The bone has been carved out to reveal the silver beneath as a frame. The cross and design around the cross are also carved of bone. One piece of bone is missing from the front cover. It measures approx. 1/2" x 1/8" wide. A great piece of European history. Thanks for looking, Happy holidays and happy bidding!
