This milk pitcher is in good condition (see my grading scale below). It has NO crazing which is rare for American ironstone of this age. It does have a very small chip on rim of the lip. It also has one small dark mark and some tiny mineral pits beginning to come through the clay (due to age). Still an excellent piece of antique ironstone. GRADING SCALE FOR CHINA PIECES M INT - No Crazing, Chips, Cracks, orUtensil Marks (Free of any imperfections) EXCELLENT – No Crazing, Chips, or Cracks - May have " Very Light " Utensil Marks OR Gold Loss VERY GOOD – No Chips or Cracks – May have "Light" Crazing, Staining, Utensil Marks, Gold Loss, minor Dulling of Finish, Color Fading, OR Flea Bite. GOOD – May have "Moderate" Crazing, Staining, Color Fading, Dulling, Utensil Marks, Chip on Underside, Gold Loss, OR Hairline Crack. FAIR – May have Surface Chips, Cracks OR Staining, " Heavy ". Crazing, Staining, Fading, Dulling, OR Utensil Marks In many cases the pieces with noticeable imperfections work very well with older or frequently used sets. *Grading levels may vary slightly for older pieces.
