Up for auction is this antique 1937 Dunhill shell patent pipe. The pipe is in estate fresh condition and has some wear and issues. The pipe has a small chip in the wood on the front of the bowl and the mouthpiece is heavily chewed and discolored on the end. Those are the two major issues with this pipe. There is no cracks or fractures in the wood. The bowl has tobacco build up from use and will need cleaning. The bottom is marked Dunhill Shell Made in England Us patent 1341418/20&1343253/20. The date code is 17 and is marked 35/4. There is a inner tube inside but is cut in half. One half is in the bowl and the other is in the mouthpiece. Im unsure if they are two pieces or were one piece at one time. This pipe would make a great addition to any pipe collection once fixed or left as is. The bowl measures 1" across and 1.75" tall and the pipe measures about 5" long. Please view all images before bidding and be sure to check out my other items.
