My grandfather purchased this home movie camera, way back in the early 1940's. It was used a few times when my father was still a baby, to take their home movies (which we still have and can view, to this day!)! This camera STILL WORKS, and it was NOT "regularly" used. All it takes is 8mm film. This camera would make an excellent gift for a collector of either cameras or old film-related things. Also included in this auction is a 100% REAL LEATHER case (that came with it--also antique/vintage) which protects the camera...it's tan and has a working snap and adjustable leather strap. The movie camera itself is hand-held and small...5 inches long, 4 inches from back to front, and then only 2 inches wide. As pictured, the camera itself has a wrist strap, attached. There is a wind-up mechanism on the right, and a rubber lens guard that snaps on that will come with your puchase! There are several adjustment options (see pictures, up close), and the camera tells you exactly how to set it, for what conditions. I personally think anyone interested in cameras and film might enjoy actually USING it (or perhaps to get that "old" effect in/on a film that was characteristic of film in the 1940's...it's distinctive). Valuable, hard to find in working condition, and also a great conversation piece to display in your home! No returns for vintage/antique read more
