Offered here today is an ANTIQUE 19th Century (could very well be older) DELFT Tile portraying a single Large OSTRICH standing in a patch of vegetation. OSTRICHES in themselves are a rarity, but couple that with the detailed painting and condition, and you have a very fine piece. It is MULTI-colored and measures about 5 1/4" square. This tile looks to have been set in the past (VERY little residue visible), but is near perfect condition with crazing (see 2nd picture). I got this tile in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in the 70's-80's. It was obviously from a collector as the condition is near perfect...check out the reverse. I have rarely seen such quality and condition in an old piece. As always, NO RESERVE, after a very fair opening bid. I'm always glad to combine items, so check out my other listings.
