OMG, this is an absolutely gorgeous antique painting that could easily have been a keeper! All original, this incredibly beautiful painting dates from the very late to very early 1900's Victorian era! Most likely a famous Victorian Sunday painting, this is an oil painting on canvas which has been stretched and nailed to a wooden stretcher! This painting features the most gorgeous spray of soft butter yellow cabbage roses and rosebuds with the palest of pink tips mixed in among soft green leaves! So stunning and so feminine! This antique beauty is not signed, but as you can see from my photos, the artist was incredibly talented and has managed to capture the romantic beauty of the Victorians favorite flower, the rose! This talented artist was definitely influenced by the famous and loved artist during these Victorian times, Catherine Klein, as you can see this painting is a compliment to her beautiful style!! This painting is in remarkable condition for its age with no tears or punctures, just some minor wear along the edges which is normal and expected on canvas of this age! For me, such minor wear and imperfection only adds to the romantic beauty of these antique Victorian rose oil paintings and helps authenticate age! On back of the wood stretcher, all four corners have original metal brackets screwed in which read, "Pat.D Feb.
