19thc Parian Bust of Lord Byron c1860 Lord George Gordon Byron (1788-1824), great Romantic poet whose work was very popular. Lord Byron died young of fever while supporting the Greek insurgents. This top quality bust of Byron stands almost 8 inches high on a separate socle base attached by the original nut and bolt. The shoulders measure 4.75 inches across. Exquisite quality, crisply modelled and with fine detail. This fine Parian bust of Byron is unmarked but the quality would certainly suggest one of the top Staffordshire Potteries . The condition is excellent and is without chips, cracks, restoration or repair. A delightful 19thc Parian bust of the Beautiful Byron it displays very well.
