Antique 19th Century French Tobacco Jar with Pewter Lid Offered is a nicely detailed French stoneware tobacco jar with salt glazed relief floral details . The pewter lid has chased detail work on the top with most of the cork still intact on the underside. My Grandmother picked this jar up in the 1950' while living in France. There are two old cluster hairline cracks on either side of the jar, neither are very noticeable. Please check out the photo's carefully before bidding, the jar is photographed on all sides, plus top and bottom. There are 5 relief floral motifs around the center of the jar as well as beading with a rose & leaf garland relief around the top and bottom. French, possibly from Beauvais or Auvergne?
