Beautiful 23" Antique German Bisque-Head Doll By Alt, Beck & Gottschalk. There was a note with her that said she was "Sweet Nell." Her bisque sockethead is in excellent condition with no damage, and is marked "2 1/2 A B G Made in Germany." She has brown sleep eyes with nice lashes, open mouth with teeth, and a dimple in her chin. Her facial coloring is very even and pretty. Her original wig is light auburn, but is sparse and you may want to replace it or give her a bonnet or hat. The doll is also marked "Germany" on the left hip of her original ball-jointed body. The body is in very good condition, but does have a bit of peeling on the compo on the right side, and a crack on her right shoulder seam. These are not bad, and her body is very strong. She is very loosely strung and should be restrung. According to the note attached to her, she came from a collection in Owensville, Missouri. Dressed in an old white baby gown, bloomers, and slip. She is also wearing a very old pair of pink slippers & socks - probably original. NO RESERVE!
