This is a nice, full size, antique, slightly flamed ,German violin which has VERY NICE TONE. It has a nice two piece slightly flamed back and a two piece medium grained spruce top and it is set up with mechanical pegs. It has excellent workmanship as you see on the inlaid purfling and the overall construction. There is a label that says Antonius Stradivarius Cremonesis 17.... , Made in Germany . This violin is made with select aged flamed woods, including the walls or sides on this instrument . Also, as you can see on the pictures there is a repaired crack on the bottom front. This repair is strong and solid and it does not affect the very nice tone. I would say that THE TONE IS mature, pleasant , with character, amplitude, resonance, and plenty of volume. The tone is not squeaky or shrilled on any string or any level. There are NO OPEN CRACKS or OPEN SEAMS . There is NO RESERVE on this item.
