Being offered is an Antique early 48 Star American Flag in Excellent Condition, 5', with the original Brass Eagle from the Flag Pole.(See pictures) I believe it came from a Battery Headquarters during, or just after, WW I. I have no verification of this, but it has the features of an early 20th Century flag. It is made of the older "muslin" material, applied stars, reinforced corners, & no maker's name. Overall condition is excellent with a few minor tears, around 1/4", showing very little signs of wear. And. it still has the very rare 5 1/4" original Brass Eagle from the pole.(See pictures) Can't remember the last time I saw one of these old flags with the Eagle. Based upon the condition, still with the lines, & Eagle, this was obviously an important war time souvenir to someone. Find an old pole, attach the Eagle, use the original lines to hold the flag & you have a Flag worthy of a museum collection.
